KNIFE MAKING COURSES WITH WILLIE IN AUCKLAND

Group Knife Making at Forgotten Arts Auc

Get your creative juices flowing

If you have ever wanted to make a knife to be proud of, one which you can confidently show to your friends and family - this is the opportunity to do it.

Who can do this course?

We have all sorts of people in our workshops and the wider the range, the merrier - so whether you are a confident user of workshop machinery or whether you are new to using tools, our courses can cater for all abilities and experience levels.

What is Willie's philosophy toward teaching knife making

Willie loves teaching but above all, he loves showing people how, with a few tips, they can make something very functional and beautiful within a day. Learning the old crafts and the ways of earlier generations is respected here - and unless you try, you never know what you are capable of.

There are few things more amazing than making a knife that you can keep for a lifetime and then pass on to future generations. Not many things, these days, can pass that test of time.

And it is much more fun actually making a knife than watching an online video of someone else making one!

How long is the course?

Generally, the course runs for around 9 - 10 hours per day so it is a full day out, doing what you love.

And at the end of it, you get to go home with your own handmade knife. What could be cooler?

Is the course catered?

Yes. Throughout the day, we will feed you morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and keep you well refreshed and focused with liberal supplies of coffee, tea and cold drink options. Most people go home 'rolling' with full bellies, having eaten their fill during the day.

We will have a wide range of food options available on the day but if you have any special dietary requirements, please do let us know.

Where are your courses held?

We have several venues that we teach out of in Auckland, throughout the year, so we are bound to have a class that suits you when you are ready to join a class.

Classes usually range from 4 to 10 people (and sometimes 12, depending on location) so you get quite a lot of attention from Willie along the way.

Our aim is to provide you with a day that is both fun and educational. As you learn new skills, we hope that it will be a memorable and engaging experience.

Do you have Gift Certificates?

Yes. We have printed Gift Certificates available for that person who you want to surprise or who is just impossible to buy for ... and we all know one!

Get in touch if you would like to know more about the specifics of our knife making days or would like to know when and where the next class is being held. We would be happy to give you more information and answer any questions you may have.
