Copper - it's gorgeous, it's versatile and it has been used by humankind for at least 10,000 years ... during which time it has had a close association with cooking and the production of scrumptious meals. Historically speaking, you could say, it has been around the block a few times and knows its way around the odd kitchen or two.

It is also a magnificent conductor. Hence the name of this beautiful French Chef's knife. Whether you are cooking up a storm and transmitting 'heat' in the kitchen or directing a symphony of culinary perfection, this full-sized copper studded kitchen knife will impress.

Well balanced and smooth, the belly of its Blackwood handle fits snuggly in your hand. And the delicate thing about it, is that you can still just feel the grains of the robust wooden handle. It is both warm and natural to the touch.

With a full flat grind on the N690 Stainless Steel blade, this knife has a fine cutting edge. It is slightly thinner than the traditional Western bevel - and it is razor sharp.

Tough and strong, it will chop, slice and dice its way through most things in the kitchen. It's large enough to take on the bigger jobs as well as fine edged enough to enable fine slicing.

It is the perfect big brother to the Umbrian Petal Kitchen Paring Knife (also hewn from the same Blackwood tree)

This is a knife to last a lifetime and more. Looked after and well cared for, it will last for generations
